My visit to Beer, Devon

Was working today, and had 3 hours between appointments and visited the small (not sure if they call it a town or a village) of Beer, on the south Devon coast, and here a few photographs

The cottage is called Hollyhock Cottage, I know one person who visits my blog is interested in house and cottage names in England, so this photograph is just for her, there was only one holyhock in flower in the garden, but cant really been seen in such a small photograph

Plain and simple

What I call plain and simple but quite elegant, I typed the letter 'B' from a font called Foliar Initials onto MATT photograph paper, and the sprinkled it with clear embossing powder, then heated it, layered it with dark blue card and then onto linen cardstock, using matt photographic paper this takes a long time for the text to dry and so gives time for embossing.

3 orange flowers

The challenge this week on Stamp Something is called Triple play.

" For the challenge this week we want to see what you can do with 3 layers, 3 colors, and 3 embellishments. We're calling it a "Triple Play" challenge. You can interpret this challenge however you choose, go with just 3 of each or at least 3 of each!"

My first layer onto my base card was orange, the flowers I made thanks to Joanne's tutorial, it was great fun and now I have done it once I will use it again, thank you Joanne. I used part of one of Penny Blacks stamps for the stems, and the fancy ribbon was some Jo kindly sent me. My text was computer generated.

Thank you for looking ..... Jose

Girl in purple

The challenge for Cute Card Thursday for this week is 'to make a card with an outdoors theme' so used this gorgeous stamp of a girl with flowers.
And also for My Time to Craft challenge this week had to include a number

Stripey waistcoat

The Darling Challenge 'a card can be for any age from 1 to a 100 but it must have a number on it ' so here is mine
I have seen several waistcoat cards but didn't have a template for one, so drew this myself, and quite pleased with the result.

An Award

I haven't been around for the last week as I have been up to London visiting a friend, and while I was away Jo has given me this award

this is the first award I have had, not sure I deserve it, but thank you very much for it Jo, you are such an inspiration to me.

The rules of this award is that I have to pass this on to seven people which is a hard job because there are so many fantastic blogs out there to choose from but here's my choice... Annie, Bev, Joanne, Kath, Leann, Stacey, and Vanessa. Please look at these blogs they have all inspired me with their wonderful work.
